Research #2 Epictura & I stock photo Images.

For my Research i have been told to go onto the Epictura Website and to choose and describe images which are in Monochrome, I have picked out a few of these images and will be expaining why i like it in Black And White and also how it looks effective without the colour in them.

I have chosen this image in perticular because of the different compositions of the image, there is nto so much going on in this image that even though you can see the background, it doesnt put you off what the photographer wants you to see. The moving of the escalator shows many lines in the image and is caught at a good pace with how fast it moves, The square of the briefcase shows shapes in the image, Maybe it is portraying how such a busy work place can be caught in pure still motion perfectly.

 This portraiture image appeals to me also, not because of the fact that I like dogs, which i dont but the contrats of the image. I think that for saying this is a black and white image, it has been thought out well, for all we know this dog could have a really nice well groomed brown skin coat, but putting this image in black and white and using the correct lighting which has been done in this studio where it has been shot, also guives it a great sense of shine, many parts of the body are lit so that none of the body is in shadow missing out. The dog food/toy bones really light the image well and shows a great proportion that theyre in the midde of the image and not to the left or right so everything is made central. Also i have noticed how i like that the background of this image isnt just a plain white or a plain grey. Its almost got a cloud look effect to it which really blends in with the grey black and white image.

I like this image because its one of those images which are caught at the perfect time maybe if they had left it a few moments later then there would have been a pile on and it would look too busy, but they have captured it at just the right time and it shows a great sense of family. The black and whiteness of the image almost makes it look like this photo was a moment in time paused.

 
I like this image because of the variety of contrasts this picture shows. It also gives out a great amount of colour even though the ironicness is that its meant to be in black and white. This shows a great story. perhaps this man in the image is really stressed but the calmness of the photo doesnt reveal that. Even though the clutteredness of the work and job shows with all the papers surrounding everywhere.

I have chosen this image as well to be one of my favoutites simply because of the colours in it. I think some people would tink that they should have stayed with the original photo because it has so much colour involved because every type of chip has a certain colour what represents the price but because this is in black and white it really brings out the black deep dark shadows of the chips and does it justice at the same time for being black and white, some might think that the choice for monochrome would be contriversial here.
